Horror Imprint Launch

We will be launching our horror imprint, La Llorona Road, on Halloween night. We have set up a private Facebook group for the online launch party.

We will be doing some fun stuff and giving away some great prizes. You don’t want to miss this online party.

You will have to be a member of the Facebook group to participate. Do a Facebook group search for La Llorona Road Launch Party to request to be added to the group.

If you have problems joining or finding the group let us know. More details coming soon.

Working on Labor Day

Taking advantage of this off day to catch up on submissions for “Freakshow,” the short story anthology that Copper Pen Press will be publishing late this year/early next year. So I guess I’m working on labor day after all.

I have been pleased with the number of submissions I’ve received. My biggest surprise – the level of freaky that some folks can come up with. Wow! And I thought only I had a mind that twisted. I’m sure you will see what I mean when the book comes out. I can’t wait to get in the reader’s hands.

Freakshow Flowing

Greetings Mystery and Suspense fans,

Manuscripts are still flowing in for our first publication, a short fiction anthology – Freakshow: Freakishly Fascinating Tales of Mystery and Suspense. We have a few stories that we are ready to send out contracts for, but the call for submissions will be open until Monday, October 31 at midnight. If you are interested in sending a manuscript, check out our submissions guidelines at https://copperpenpress.com/freakshow/. We are hopeful that we can get Freakshow in the hands of our readers by the end of the year.

There is big news coming in the next few weeks. We will be opening submissions for our first novel-length book very soon. Watch for that announcement in the near future.

Stay up to date with happenings, new releases and calls for submissions from Copper Pen Press. Follow us on Twitter at twitter.com/CopperPenPress. You can also like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Copperpenpress.

Smooth Sailing

A quick post to let everyone know that manuscripts for Freakshow: Freakishly Fascinating Tales of Mystery and Suspense are flowing in. The deadline for submissions is not until October 31, but we have a few entries that we will be sending contracts to soon. There is still plenty of room for your story, so keep those submissions coming.

We are preparing to launch our call for submissions for our first novel-length mystery/suspense manuscripts. We will release details on our website (and our mailing list) in the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of the mailing list, we have two different lists. One is for notifications when we post a new entry in our blog. The other is our regular mailing list. We will be sending out calls for submissions from our regular mailing list first, so if you have not subscribed to it, click here to sign up.

CPP Officially Launched

Last night we held a wine and cheese reception to officially launch Copper Pen Press. The turnout was higher than expected, and from all indications, everyone had a great time. We were able to get the word out about our new publishing house, along with giving away some great prizes. We would like to thank everyone that turned out to help us celebrate the kickoff of Copper Pen Press.

We originally intended to have a virtual party to coincide with the live wine and cheese reception. With limited space for the reception, we thought that this would be a great way to get more people involved with our celebration. The plan was to give the online partiers the same info about Copper Pen Press that we were giving at the live reception, while posting pics from the live event. We also planned to give the folks online a chance to win the same prizes that the people at the reception were winning.

You know what they say about the best laid plans… and unfortunately we ran into some technical difficulties. We were able to do prize drawings for the virtual group, so all is not lost.

The virtual party was to be held on the Facebook group “Copper Pen Press Virtual Launch Party,” and many people joined that group for the party. Even though the party is technically over, in the next few days I am going to be adding info to the group that was given out at the live event. I am also going to be opening the group up so you don’t need an invite or to be approved by a administrator to join the group.  I’ll leave the group up for a few months so that anyone that wants to check out the information can.

I would like to thank the family and friends that showed up at the live reception, along with those online, for helping us celebrate the launch of Copper Pen Press
